Our Students
St Thomas the Apostle Greensborough North
At St. Thomas, wellbeing is central to our mission. We recognise and celebrate the unique qualities of every child, believing that all individuals are created in God's image, with inherent worth and dignity. Our holistic approach fosters resilience, confidence, compassion, and respect, providing students with the opportunity to grow in these essential areas. With a focus on positive education, we actively nurture personal and social skills, building a supportive and thriving school community for all.

Student Wellbeing
At St. Thomas, we prioritise wellbeing and are proud to partner with The Resilience Project, a leading provider of social-emotional learning throughout Australia. Through research and evidence-based lessons and digital presentations for students, staff, and parents, we equip young people with the skills to navigate challenges with confidence.
Our five school values—Respect, Responsibility, Doing Your Best, Fair Go, and Honesty—shape our expectations, fostering strong relationships, positive behaviour, and a supportive learning environment where every child can thrive.

Restorative Practices
At St. Thomas, restorative practices strengthen relationships, resolve conflicts, and repair harm to build a connected school community. Guided by Gospel values and supported by wellbeing research, this approach fosters resilience, self-regulation, and a positive learning environment. By bringing people together to address and mend harm, we nurture a culture of empathy, responsibility, and growth.

Learning Diversity
At St. Thomas, our Learning Diversity team collaborates closely with classroom teachers to provide engaging and inclusive learning experiences for all students.
We take a structured approach to supporting diverse learners, combining teacher expertise with the invaluable contributions of our Learning Support Officers. This ensures that every student has the opportunities they need to flourish. Within the mainstream classroom, we use flexible teaching strategies, visual supports, differentiated resources, and targeted instruction to cater to individual needs.
For students requiring more tailored support, our Learning Diversity team meets regularly with teachers and support staff to plan and monitor progress. We work closely with parents, using Student Support Group meetings to create personalised learning plans that integrate specialist advice and outline specific goals and adjustments. Teachers continuously assess and adjust the learning program to ensure each student’s growth and success.
We are committed to fostering curiosity, passion, and a love of learning through both explicit teaching and creative, individualized experiences that support every student’s journey.

Student Leadership
At St. Thomas, students are encouraged to take on leadership roles throughout their primary school journey. Our Student Leaders and Year 6 Leadership Program continue a strong tradition of empowering students to lead, develop their strengths, learn from peers, and represent our school with pride and positivity.

Buddy Program
The Buddy Program fosters connections between older and younger students, promoting a sense of community and creating lasting friendships.
Each year, new Prep students are paired with a Year 6 buddy, who helps them navigate the playground, feel secure during recess and lunchtime, and adjust to school routines. This partnership supports the Prep Transition and strengthens bonds across the school.

Lunchtime Activites
Lunchtime clubs at St. Thomas give students the chance to explore activities they enjoy, connect with peers across different year levels, take a break from the playground, or try something new. These clubs provide a fun and engaging way for students to socialise and develop new skills. Some of the exciting lunchtime clubs we offer include:
